i have been busy creating more "be" paintings...

entitled "be determined" available here

in my quietest moments i have come to understand that these paintings hold so much meaning to me because they are nudges from my subconcious to me when i need them the most.  when i am doubting myself and my abilities as an artist my subconcious tells me to "be determined" to "be strong".  i started creating this collection during a time when i wasn't sure if i should keep moving forward with my art.  one night i went into my studio and just let me heart take over and the first "be" girl emerged. i instantly felt inspired and created several (you can see some of them in a previous post).

happy monday.  i have been busy creating a new series of paintings that have really gotten me excited about painting again.  i have taken a few steps backwards and am painting my girls without facial details.  i am calling this series the "be...." series.  below are the first two that i will be posting in my etsy shop:

Mail Art from Tim Sally!!!!

yay!!!  Ii came home today to find mail art from Mindy Lacefield.  i did a little dance then sat down to very carefully open the envelope...below is what I received:

seriously, how cool is this?  i am beyond excited.  thank you Mindy for hosting such a cool mail art swap.  i am going to put these right in my studio for inspiration and to remind myself to keep pushing forward.  thank you.

my mail art was posted! 

last week i sent 2 postcards to mindy lacefield who is hosting a mail art swap over on her blog.  never in a million years did i think she would post a picture of my art, but she did!!!  i completely freaked out i was so excited and so appreciative.  i have followed her blog for several years and am always inspired by her artwork and her ability to express herself through her art.  what an honor.  i keep pinching myself.  thank you mindy!

taking the leap into blogging

hi. starting to blog is something i have wanted to do for a while but have been abosutely terrified to jump in.  i have never been good at expressing my thoughts and feelings and writing them for the world to see?  terrifying.  however, i desperately want to be a part of this incredible community, so i am going to put on my big girl pants and dive in head first.  i have no idea about gadgets, html, etc, etc....but figure i'll figure it all out as i go along.......
